ALAN
JOHNSTON MUST BE RELEASED WITHOUT ANY HARM
Published:

The
Ramadhan Foundation today joins thousands of people across the world to
urge those that are holding the BBC correspondent Alan Johnston to
release him immediately without any pre-conditions. This is a
journalist who has spent his time living amongst the people who are
suffering at the hands of the Israelis; his reports have been balanced
and allowed the world to witness the apartheid being practiced by the
Israelis against innocent Palestinians.
We
call on those Muslims that are holding Alan to consider the impact on
the Palestinian campaign by continuing holding him, as each day passes
the less opportunities there are for people to tell the real story of
Palestinian suffering. We hope the captors can find it in their
hearts to release Alan safely to his family.
Mr.
Shazad Anwar, Chief Executive comments:
“The
Ramadhan Foundation is appalled at today’s video of abducted BBC
Correspondent Alan Johnston and we call on his captors to have some
compassion and release him unharmed immediately. He has been a
good journalist who lived amongst the Palestinian people and witnessed
at first hand the oppression they face, and also provided a platform
for the world to witness the aggression of the Israelis.
We
offer our prayers and support to Alan’s family and hope that their
ordeal will end soon.
Islam
does not allow this sort of kidnapping and we urge the captors to
release him unharmed, the Ramadhan Foundation is pleased to add our
name calling for his immediate release.
