Mohammed Shafiq of the Ramadhan Foundation today
announces a special event being held in Rochdale to
discuss how the UK can rid itself of extremism. The
event will be held on Sunday 1st October 2006 from 4pm
till 7.30pm.
Since 7/7 there have been many attempts in the UK to
discuss the challenges of extremism and how to truly
engage the Muslim communities to ensure that those that
practice this evil are dealt with.
The
event will have an invited audience of 30 people who
will hear from special guests on why 7/7 happened, the
effects on community relations and what the challenges
are for the future. They will then have an interactive
session where the audience will be able to question the
panel on key issues. The event will be recorded by
Channel 4 and BBC Radio 5 Live.
Mr.
Mohammed Shafiq, Press Spokesman announces the event by
commenting:
"Terrorism and extremism are major areas concerning the
United Kingdom; the Muslim communities feel that this
whole attack on the Muslims are creating a massive
disillusion with the political process.
We
have heard from the Government what it wants to hear on
this issue, we intend to create a better understanding
what the agenda should be and the challenges we face.
We
extend an invitation to all those in the media to listen
to how the Muslim communities want to deal with this
these issues.
This
event is the first of many community events that will
look at these issues and also challenge the prejudices
of those already spoken on this".
THIS EVENT IS INVITATION ONLY, NO ENTRY TO ANYONE
WITHOUT INVITATION CARD
All media requests please ring Mohammed Shafiq for
further details and address of location of the meeting.
