The Chairman of
the Ramadhan Foundation has attacked the BBC Panorama programme
titled “Faith, Hate and Charity” as a gross inaccurate picture
of a great humanitarian agency that works to help those that are
oppressed.
The BBC has
done great damage to its record on investigative journalism and
has used the programme to paint a distorted picture of reality.
Mr Muhammad
Umar, Chairman of the Foundation comments:
“Following on
from the programme we are disappointed that the BBC did not use
its resources to get the facts correct prior to transmission of
the programme. There was so many inaccurate facts about
Interpal and its essential work that goes on in Palestine and in
places where people are oppressed.
When will the
BBC report in detail about the apartheid practised by the
Israelis in the West Bank and Gaza, millions of innocent people
are losing their lives at the hands of war criminals, will the
BBC not report this, I do not think so.
Muslims have
once again being portrayed in a bad light with no prior
consultation on this programme, where is community engagement.
Today I have
written to Mark Thompson, BBC Director General to see whether he
will put a stop to future inaccurate programmes being
broadcasted”
