RAMADHAN IS A TIME FOR REFLECTION AND GIVING

Published: 04/10/2006 16:30

As Muslims across the globe continue through the holy month of Ramadhan, the Ramadhan Foundation’s newly appointed Chief Executive Shazad Anwar congratulates the Muslims on the coming of this holy month and asks for people to pray for the suffering people around the world.

Ramadhan is a time of reflection and pray, a great opportunity to be thankful for what has been given and for taking the time to give in return. This special occasion reminds us all, Muslim and non-Muslim, that we all are part of the same great human family; that we all deserve respect and that we are all worthy to live free of tyranny and oppression in a just and peaceful world.

Mr Shazad Anwar, comments further:

"On this blessed month of Ramadan, I and my Boar colleagues wish to express to Muslims around the world our congratulations on the coming of this blessed month and  for this special time of contemplation, self-sacrifice, and affirmation of our commitment to peaceful co-existence in a multi cultural society.

“With so much suffering around the world it is an ideal opportunity for us to pause and think of those around the globe who live in poverty every day.  We pray that God alleviates that poverty and that those that are oppressed are free to live their lives in peace and harmony.

Ramadhan is a time to give and we urge Muslims to give to all the worthy causes around the globe, you can do this through our official international relief partner “Helping Hands” (www.helpinghandsworldwide.com)

Islam is very much a part of UK history and multi-cultural society, the UK should celebrates the successes and contributions of Muslims and that’s why the Foundation is working to unite Muslims in the UK so we can have one Eid ul Fitr.

END
