The Ramadhan
Foundation welcomes yesterday’s anti terror raids and calls on
the citizens of the United Kingdom to remain calm, we recognise
that we are going through some difficult times but together we
can move forward. We once again reaffirm our consistent
condemnation of any terrorist act carried out by individuals,
groups or States.
The Ramadhan Foundation pays tribute to the law enforcement
agencies who have prevented a major terrorist attack bigger than
9/11. We also welcome the Home Secretary’s commitment to the
civil liberties of innocent Muslims and we condemn the
Islamophobic attacks on our mosques and women. There can be no
justification for this mindless bigotry.
We urge the
media to allow the police time to complete their enquiries and
allow the process of justice to see its course before
speculating on the case.
The Chairman of
the foundation Mr. Muhammad Umar comments further:
“We are
concerned at the terms of "Islamic fascists", which, like
similar terms as "Islamic terrorism" gives the false impression
that there might be any connection between such aberrations and
Islam.
Islam does not
allow the killing of innocent people whether that be in London,
New York, Beirut or Baghdad, let us banish these terms from our
vocabulary”
